Oh my! While I completely understand the conundrum that the town faces I just can't imagine a summer
without the Community Pool at Holding Park! It is such an iconic landmark and it bustling with activity during the summer!
Due to the horrific drought that we have experienced here in the south the Wake Forest town leaders are contemplating NOT opening the pool this summer. It is a decision that they do not take lightly. From the article:
Wake Forest commissioners said they would decide by May 1 whether to keep the Holding Park pool closed for the summer in an effort to conserve water during the drought.
"This is not a decision we approached happily nor with a smile on our faces," Commissioner Peter Thibodeau said.

Leesa,
It's a sad legacy of the drought. We have had some relief here in GA, actually in a rain surplus now, but lake levels are still very low.
I am ashamed to say that my daughter received a master's degree at Wake Forest, but I have never visited your lovely town. It's on my "to-do" list!
