Throughout the Denver area, so many neighborhoods have an abundance of recreation opportunities.  And having trails almost everywhere is no exception.  They are especially plentiful in the South Denver Metro area, and one of my favorites is the High Line Canal Trail.

Highline Canal Trail

No matter the weather, you will almost always find people out on the trail -  walking dogs, running or biking.  The below photo on the right shows an exercise area for adding to your work-outs.

These particular photos were taken recently on a day that reminds me that spring is just about here and it will be summer in a flash.   They are all taken on a section of the High Line Canal trail that runs through Greenwood Village, particularly the Green Oaks and Greenwood Acres neighborhoods.  It was a bit quieter on the trail than usual, and it was very enjoyable.

If you are looking for Denver homes that back to the High Line Canal Trail -   the Green Oaks or Greenwood Acres neighborhoods in Greenwood Village may be right for you.  And there are numerous other neighborhoods throughout Greenwood Village and the rest of the South Denver area when considering Denver real estate that could make the desire to have a trail out your back door a reality.  Both of these neighborhoods, Green Oaks and Greenwood Acres, offer larger yards, mature landscaping and the homes range from older, modest homes, to homes with intense renovations, to complete scrape and builds that now are impressive, luxurious executive homes.

Steve, Greenwood Village wasn't around back when I lived in Denver but it looks fabulous. I love the trails. You are the Realtor of choice for the Highlands Ranch area as well as Green Village. Great article and wonderful photos.

Gena - It probably was still quite a bit of farm land, but it was there.  It is now the entire area encompassing the Denver Tech Center.  Here is a link if you would like to read more about the Greenwood Village history.  Thanks for stopping by!

Steve, one of the things I remember well from our 15 years in the Denver area is all the trails.  We took lots of family walks while living there.  Greenwood Village looks like a wonderful subdivision.

Marchel, Yes - there are tons of trails everywhere.  Greenwood Village is actually a city just a little south of Denver.  The neighborhoods in these photos & that I wrote about here are Green Oaks and Greenwood Acres in Greenwood Village.

Steve, I don't remember a Greenwood Village in the area; has it been there long?  I was more familiar with the north areas and thought I knew the south areas but I guess not.

Steve, great post. I LOVE hiking trails. Though I'm not a HIKER per se, I do love to stroll and look and see what's all around me. Sometimes I'm not watching where I'm stepping though cause I'm so busy looking at the trees, flowers, sky, who knows? Good job! ;-)

Marchel - Greenwood Village is also where the Denver Tech Center is (DTC).  I put a link in the second comment if you would like to learn more.

Teri - There are so many trails all over Denver - i am generally on my bike when I have a enough time for a nice long ride.
