If you have a flagstone walkway, you may have some stones that have worked their way loose due to one of the joints having a crack allowing water to get underneath, and freeze which caused the stone to pop up. This is common, and can be fixed if you follow the directions in this article.

1. Remove the stone

2. Use a wire brush and clean all the loose debris from underneath

3. Use compressed air to dry and clean out all the loose debris

4. Apply concrete block adhesive to the hole

5. Apply a bead of mortar joint repair caulk to the edges of the flagstone

6. Apply the stone into the original hole

7. Fill any remaining cracks with mortar joint repair caulk

8. Sprinkle a mixture of sand and stone dust over cracks

9. Allow it to sit overnight

10. Sweep of excess dust the next day
