Is your blog collecting dust or are you getting the traffic you want to your blog site? I’ve written a variety of posts about blogging. I've put some of the topics together so you can see some very specific ways to increase your readership.
- Pinging Services – Signing up for a pinging service is a must. Pinging is a way for other pinging sites to be automatically informed your site has a new post. You can read my previous post about pinging at http://real-estate-support.com/what-is-a-blog-ping-and-how-can-you-use-it-to-improve-your-readership/
- Claim Your Blog – Technorati http://technorati.com/ is one of the foremost sites for claiming your blog. After your claim is made, your blog will be listed in their blog directory. Since millions of people visit Technorati every day, you have a better chance of increasing traffic to your site.
Here's the link to a blog I wrote last July on the subject of promotiom - http://real-estate-support.com/the-5-most-important-things-to-do-to-get-targeted-visitors-to-your-site/
- Burn Your Feed – Feedburner is owned by Google. One of the distinctive features of Feedburner as opposed to other RSS services are the statistics. It provides a good way to track people who subscribe to your blog via your RSS feed. This will give you the information you need to see where your traffic is coming from as well as how many people are visiting your site.

- Bookmarking Your Blog - del.icio.us is a great bookmarking site for your blog posts. Create an account and bookmarks, along with excerpts from your posts. You can search Google for other bookmarking sites, too.
You can find more bookmarking sites on my previous blog post at http://real-estate-support.com/a-roadmap-for-blog-traffic-success-10-tips-to-get-you-going-in-the-right-direction/
- The Key – Just like your website needs to have good keyword density for the search engines to find it, so does your blog. Be sure the keywords you choose are relevant to your post. Use those keywords generously in a way that makes sense but overstuff your post with them. Search engines like keywords but using too many are a definite no-no from both a reader’s and spider’s point of view.
You read more about using effective keywords on my blog post at http://real-estate-support.com/choosing-effective-keywords/ Consistency, pinging, feeds and bookmarking are all important things to keep in mind for getting good blog traffic.
