What’s it Like to Live in San Ramon CA?

Life in San Ramon.. what is it all about and what’s it really like? As a San Ramon real estate agent and also a resident of San Ramon I love living in this fantastic and yet private and quiet part of Contra Costa County. We don't have the hustle and bustle and rush of the San Francisco side of the bay area but we do have a more quiet, peaceful and yet active area.

The area is surrounded by rolling hills and beautiful parks. And when I say parks, and talking a lot of parks! San Ramon has dozens of parks perfect for writing your bike, taking a hike, playing on playground equipment, throwing the ball over the frisbee around with your friends or for your dog, as well as lots of sports fields and recreational facilities. Many of our neighborhoods have individual parks literally within a few blocks of each other. There's hiking and biking trails as well as lots of additional recreational facilities, like golf courses and community centers.whats it like to live in San Ramon

Activities are limitless. If you prefer to stay inside we have theaters with live performances as well as cinemas, skate parks (ice and roller), community colleges, tennis courts and lots of fitness centers.

One big difference about San Ramon is that we don't really have a downtown area per se. We are still building and it's designed to have a downtown area builds off of Bollinger Canyon Road across from the Chevron's corporate headquarters eventually. That being said, many people had to Walnut Creek's Broadway Plaza, which is an outdoor mall perfect for retail, outlet and boutique shops as well as upscale dress stores. For indoors, the stone ride mall in Pleasanton is only about 20 minutes away which has over 200 stores as well as an outlet mall.

There are numerous festivals around the area including the Air and Wind Festival, Fourth of July festivals and music in the park during the summer. The local high schools perform concerts and performing arts events as well as jazz musicals throughout the year.

San Ramon does have a few restaurants but most people had to Danville or Dublin, less than 10 minutes away from most of their eating out.

As far as markets, there's a Safeway and Lucky's in town, as well as Whole Foods, Trader Joe's and other markets less than five minutes from downtown.

San Ramon has simply stunning weather year round. It does cool off in the evenings,  which is perfect and we're not as hot as San Jose about an hour away. The Bay Area is very similar and we have upper 70s and 80s during the summer. Occasionally, wind and fog may make its way from the bay area through San Ramon into the hills and of course the rain keeps our golf courses and lawns bright green.

So, think this would be a perfect place to settle down? Start by browsing all the current listings for sale in San Ramon California. And, if you like to know more about our area feel free to give me a call anytime. Not only do I work here but I live, play and raise my family here as well.

Hi Dale,

What a lovely community with all those green trees growing around the community. You have 4 great markets in your area so what else do you need? I have been to San Ramon in the past and your are right as the weather is usually nice year round.
