It’s no secret that the economy has stunk like an overripe brie these past few years. It’s delightful to see organizations like the Louisville Urban League doing something to help unemployed or under-employed Louisvillians get back on their feet!
The Louisville Urban League is hosting their 20th Annual Louisville Career Expo March 19, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Kentucky International Convention Center. The Louisville Career Expo is free to the public and is aimed at adults eighteen and over seeking employment.
The event is both for employers and job-seekers, and according to the Louisville Urban League offers, “…companies and employers the opportunity to: 1) meet face-to-face with large numbers of qualified job applicants; 2) diversify their workforce; and 3) build relationships to further promote their company’s objectives and mission.”
There are typically 75 Career Expo exhibitors. These include colleges and training providers to connect individuals to higher education and skills certification programs for career advancement. In addition to a large number of exhibitors, the Louisville Career Expo has computers available for online job applications, private rooms for interviews and networking meetings, and features registration for Kynect, Kentucky’s new Affordable Healthcare Connection.
Reservations can be made online, and attendees should check the website for some important pointers before attending. Attendees are strongly encouraged to wear business professional attire and bring all necessary documents if interested in exploring their Kynect healthcare options.
