Moving to South Scottsdale no HOA and growing Marijuana

Will folks start moving to South Scottsdale because there are no HOAs but they can grow their medical marijuana?  You may be thinking what is this #Jim Miner talking about.  Well, several weeks ago a HOA in another city in the greater Phoenix area decided they would not allow marijuana to be grown for medical purposes in the front or back yard of homes.  Let me tell you how this set the grapevine abuzz along with essentially all other forms of communication.  It escalated to the point that everyone seemed to be taking a stance whether they supported the HOA (I am not sure if there was anyone) or if they were against the "interesting decision" made by the HOA Management.  The fact there is state law which supersedes the HOA Management decision seemed to be of no consequence to the HOA.

Now for some of you who are not familiar with a HOA, it is a home owners association that has a set of rules referred to as the CC&Rs.  Essentially what they do is enforce the rules for the community and if need be create a few new ones, such as the Medical Marijuana decision.  If you have ever lived in a HOA you probably have heard of or experienced the act of being notified; you are in violation of some rule.  If you elect to ignore the violation it can ultimately lead to the HOA placing a lien on your property and when they do that the typical reaction of the homeowner is to go ballistic.  So with that in mind; will all of these folks now consider moving to South Scottsdale where there are no HOAs and they can grow their Medical Marijuana?

Now I will share with you what I think was the reason for trying to stop the growing of Medical Marijuana, above and beyond the obvious of rolling papers being littered throughout the subdivisions, and that is the HOA Management knew fresh apples and jars of peanut butter would become the staples of the day and when people started discarding their apple cores into the front-yards of their homes the risk of attracting roof rats would dramatically increase.  In addition to that there was serious concern on the part of Management as to where all of those empty peanut butter jars would end up. Peanut Butter & Apple Once again, the HOA Management was mis-understood when all along they were only trying to help the folks keep the neighborhoods nice and tidy.

Now I think you can understand why there is potential home prices in South Scottsdale, which don't have HOAs and one can grow Medical Marijuana, could have a serious movement in upward price appreciation.

UPDATE:  The HOA Management  has made the decision to resend their rule against the growing of Medical Marijuana.  We all are so Happy or should I say High?
