Fishhawk Lake Mystery Photo

The day before yesterday I went and spent hours in my canoe traveling from one end of Fishhawk Lake to the other. I took many many photos. What a wonderful day.

When I take photos, I like to look at things differently.

Take photos with a different "bent" if you will.

At one point, I saw this, so I took a series of pictures of it.

I didn't change the colors at all. I sharpened it a bit, but otherwise, this is pretty much what I shot.

Can you guess what this is?

(Hint: I shot this with one hand holding the camera).

With photos like this, it could be a whole variety of things, depending upon what the viewer sees with their minds, imaginations and their own experiences.

I loved the concentric quality, the textures and the simplicity of it. Not everyone will appreciate it, but that's what art is all about. Mostly, we do it for ourselves.

If someone else likes it, "gets it", then all the better!

Any of you photographers who are searching for the perfect lake picture at your very own lake, please call me--I can fulfill that wish for you!

Looks like a stone was dropped in the water and those are the ripples it made in the water. You will have to be sure and let us know.

Gayle,

I am guessing water ripples..I could see a whole series on the subject. Just got back home from a great works trip.  I was trying to get my comments done and was reading your post at the Oakland airport, but the wi-fi was weird.  So now I can do it better from my Mac at home.  Hugs, A

I'm with the others that commented.  I think it's a water ripple.  What ever it is, it has created an interesting effect.

Gayle, I will join the group and say ripples in otherwise calm water.  Great photo and thought!

Gayle, I think ripples in water but who knows-love that you travelled by canoe across the lake to take photos-what an incredible day and I wish I could join you.

Hi Galye, I also think it is water...would like to know how you did this...so let us know.  Go to talk with you yesterday and glad you took the canoe trip. Look forward to seeing your other lake photos!

Good morning Gayle. And the answer is, well looks like ripples in the water. Gail has been saying how disappointed she is that she can do no kayaking for a number of months, that sucks.

Good morning--you are all correct! I figured you would see that part, but do you know what the black is on the left?

It's my paddle...and I wrote this yesterday, but my comment went into cyberspace. I glided it through the water, pulled it up and let it drip and ripple while I took a photo (or seven!) The sun hit the water and it was quite fun. Of course I was only able to use one hand to "click" while holding the paddle.

Gayle, I love this photo. I knew it was water ripples, however I was stumped on the black part. After reading your comment, it makes perfect sense. The added dimension of the sunlight is amazing. Great shot (or 7)!

Lisa, thank you! The ripples were pretty easy, altho if you look at just a certain way, it could look like space or a tornado!

The curve reminds me of the curve of a woman's waist and hip and the center ring reminds me of a (low) belly button - if that does not sound too weird!
