THE THOUGHT OF GOING IT ALONE

By
Real Estate Broker/Owner with people first...then business Ran Right Realty 636943 licensed to thrill

What one person can do another can do. This we know. But somethings require common sense and not effort. A person should know their limitations and operate accordingly. When it comes to purchasing, selling or investing in Real Estate, the learning curve respects no one

TAKE THIS FOR INSTANCE

Medical school for doctors does the same thing too. For a period of about seven years, a medical student is subjected to the business and its dynamics while under the watchful eye of the more seasoned and experienced. It is called interning. The human body and its ailments is no joke

AND THIS TOO

In the law field, one of the most driest and intellectually challenging subjects, one must get proficient in things that the layman and common people refer to as small print, legalese and gibberish. It takes dedication, know how and specific focus to want to learn let alone complete let alone excel in this industry

POINT OF THE POST

The point of the post is to emphasize that there is a time to seek out professional help and a time perhaps not to. For the everyday coming and going, a Real Estate agent, Doctor or Attorney is not necessary. But when the need for this pops up.....hire-up. Its the cost of doing good and safe business in these fields successfully

PROFESSIONAL HELP

Enter into these realms for your own good and protection. The time it would take and the experience that is required to successfully prevail on whatever it is you are doing is not available to learn as you go quick enough to get in or out successfully

KNOW THE DIFFERENCES

There are times when an aspirin will suffice but then there is no risk involved in that. Even reading something that is complicated but not necessary is common and can be handled. However, when handling a transaction of hundreds of thousands of dollars that is either coming in or going out, an agent is wise

When the stakes are high and do overs are not common, doing it right is the only option

Hi Richie - another thought-provoking post.  Sometimes experience matters while there be an argument for the fresh approach that a veteran in any field may dismiss or be unaware.   For real estate and the other professions you mentioned, I think the one factor that can't be ignored is that people want the person they are working with to care and sometimes that's something that can't be taught or "faked"...it needs to be genuine.

Richie, some really good points. In today's changing world even the most experienced agents can be left behind with the technology. It's not always easy to say, "I need some assistance figuring this out!"

This is so true. I recently had some sellers decide to go the FSBO route until I explained to them all the legal, marketing, and SAFETY aspects. They decided against FSBO and have trusted me to get the job done.

Hello Tom...yes to your comment. You know Tom, people who ask for help usually get it. Its that NOT asking that gets us every-time...

Hello Shannon...it is as simple as you say...There is just too much to explain. Consider to in social gatherings where we are being introduced to one another and someone says...tell us a little about yourself...the word little is literal because there is so much to tell...yes?

Great insight Richie.  I've known many people who have 'saved money' by not hiring a professional, and later regretted it when the cost of their frugality is often tenfold those 'savings'.

Well stated Richie - this can apply to many services and products. It has taken a long time and a lot of hard knocks to recognize the value in paying up front for the pros than paying a lifetime after.
