My Morning Routine, My Real Estate Business, ActiveRain & the Bible

An unusual title in today's politically correct non-secular world.
I start with my morning routine, because I was recently inspired to change it. I have recently written a couple of articles about a free 3-day seminar I attended, presented by Tom Ferry (which I recommend - just know he wants to sell you a $500 a month coaching program).
One of the issues that was discussed and taught was to change my morning routine. Well, I've known that for a while - but hearing it made it resonate. Now the things that I know I should do - I am doing consistently.
I set my alarm for 5:00 a.m. (remember, I have no commute - I work from home)
I exercise every morning - gradually increasing my workout.
I plan my day (Tom says I should do this the night before - but I am not as sharp then, so I use the early morning hours to figure out what I want to accomplish).
I study my Bible and recommit my life to Jesus - everyday.
Occasionally, I'll take the time to Blog in the morning, as I am today - typically though, I save these activities for the evening.
With the new routine which is mid way through the second week, I have not missed a beat. OK, there have been a couple of mornings that I did not get up until 6ish - but I have followed through with the exercise, healthy breakfast, business planning and Bible Study - every day.
Yesterday, I had my first breakthrough in production. Yesterday I was on top of my game and I focused on what I had to accomplish and not the drama running around my home and in my head. Yesterday I was Super Realtor!
So, this morning, I stat off out of bed at 5:00 a.m. - finish my workout, eat my breakfast and sit down with my Bible. This morning, I start reading the Book of James. Now, if you have never read the Bible I can say that James is a pretty good summary of the teachings of Jesus Christ. It is a very short book - only 5 chapters an in my Bible it only occupies less than 5 full pages. However, I can tell you I will be reading and re-reading this book for the next week or more. There is so much here.
When I first started, I thought back to the seminar and thought that is what James is offering here - a seminar on Christianity. He is giving me the condensed version of the teachings of Jesus, without ever directly quoting Jesus. It is so awesome.
Not only is the Word James teaching relevant to life itself, but today when I read I know that God is directing James to talk to me about my Real Estate business. How amazing is that?
The first chapter starts out in the 2nd and 3rd verse saying, "Count it joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience."
I could spend the entire day contemplating this message and making myself apply this valuable lesson. Because those of you who know me, know I am anything but patient.
The 4th verse sums up the thought by adding, "But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing."
Did I mention that this message is so powerful that it can (and does) have as much impact - of not more than any seminar speaker. There are so many things going on in my life right now that have been unsettling. There are health issues, mother-in-law issues, financial issues, business issues and my worldly nature says I want to take care of these ‘things' now. I want to be in control and get them taken care of - my way.
Today, I will trust in my Lord, as David sang in the 37th Psalm, verse 3 & 4, "Trust in the Lord and do good; Dwell in the land, and feed on his faithfulness. Delight yourself also in the Lord, and He shall give you the desires of your heart."
Now you might understand the title of this article a bit clearer. But you may still ask, why is ActiveRain in the title? I answer, because ActiveRain is the medium that is allowing me to share my love and reach out and touch someone this morning. I don't know who it will be, but this morning both ActiveRain and I are being used by God to touch someone's heart.
I hope it's yours.
