...and other such outrageous headlins to grab attention....;)

Seriously, how does everyone here feel about contorversial and / or outrageous headlines to grab attention?....Personally I think it is all about "context"....

I posted the following headline in one of the other forums: "No Such Thing as a 30 year fixed Mortgage and I can prove it "..... the post pointed back to a post on my active rain blog here:

http://activerain.com/blogsview/43050/No-Such-Thing-as

Now if you read the blog post you will see some controversey in the posts itself, but the in regards to the subject the Subject is accurate but very controversial....

Controversey can be a trickey thing because it can harm credibility..But if you back up the reason for the controversey I think you will be safe.....

What do you think?

Ahh...Yes and the Controversy ensues....

"I see you're going for the 'cheap' points thing?"

Nope just trying to get some honest feedback based on the content of the post(s) themself....Am I NOT supposed to post the same question in more than one forum?....I am honestly asking the same question to get a "diverse" response...Unless you are saying that everyone all visits and interacts on the same forumss all the time so I should not look for varied opinion...

"I think these three posts clearly harm any credibility that you might have. "

Is this a "moral Judgement" on your part...or an "objective judgement"...Have I violated rules?

Are you somone I should look to for "sage advice"?....If so Why?

Opinions are like A#*hol$%....Everyone has one!

Everyone has an "opinion"...Should I comment on your posts now?...Is this how that works?

Are you the resident Active Rain "muscle" around here?....

Listen you are Jumping to conclusions and making off color comments without first asking me directly....I assume you want me to respond this way so I can give you the validation that you want....

You can Assume all day long...Does NOT mean your assumption is correct..

Keith - I am just another ActiveRain member. No one special. When you make multiple posts like this, using all of the same content, only simply changing the heading, it's like climbing up on a mountaintop and yelling, "I'm trying to make some cheap scoring points!" Each post is awarded 200 points. If you want to genuinely earn those points, then post original content in each of your posts. If you really want people to read what you have to say, and offer honest feedback, then take time to write something meaningful.

You don't have to create a different post for each group/forum. You can categorize each blog to go into multiple groups/forums.

I don't need any validation. And you don't need to comment on my posts.

I apologize if I came off too critical. I would be glad to offer any help along the way.

No need to apologize....I just find the phenomenon of jumping to conclusions and the controversy that ensues an interesting phenomenon.....Commenting on the controversy that you may criticize is just "feeding the gorilla" (the same gorilla that is beating me with chicken wings)

well, I was wrong for just "jumping".....you don't need to create a seperate 'copied content' post for each group. You can simply generate one blog, and categorize it for multiple groups. Otherwise, you will be viewed as someone simply going for some cheap points.

But will the questions or feedback I ask for have the "same opportunity" to be viewed by the same amount of people so I can receive the amount of feedback I desire If I post in the mannre you suggest?

Really I am not quite understanding why the "amount of points" is very important in the grand scheme of things?...Is it more of a "status" thing? Does it really have a "tangible" net benefit?...If so it should not be that easy to receive points in the first place...

See what it does?...

It creates "controversey" because it is "assumed" that I must be just going for "cheap points" because it is easy to rack up points in the first place....Points for the sake of Points?....to what end?...How do the "points" within themself actually benefit?...I'm not quite seeing it!

Hey, Keith...maybe it would be easier if I simply called you and we could talk about it?
