Why More Agents Refer Clients to Us Than to Any Other Local Firm
Last week, we were contacted by another Minneapolis & Saint Paul area real estate agent about property on Madeline Island. We are contacted by Twin Cities agents, Madison (Wisconsin) agents, Milwaukee agents, Chicago agents and others in the real estate industry on a regular basis. This was our second such phone inquiry from an out-of-area real estate agent in the past thirty days, and our third since the beginning of the year.
Why does Madeline Island Realty receive so many referral calls and inquiries from real estate licensees? Maybe it's because we practice real estate the way it is practiced in major real estate markets. We understand that buyers and sellers want the same level of real estate service and convenience they expect in their primary home area.
We hear from real estate agents and brokers in Minnesota and Wisconsin seeking advice about a property belonging to a friend, client or family member. The majority of such inquiries result in a referral from the agent to our office on Lake Superior.
I was reminded of this fact when I reviewed a file on one of our Madeline Island listings, which was referred to us by a busy Minneapolis area agent. He contacted me and later referred a Twin Cities client to our office, for the purpose of listing their waterfront home on the Island. During the process, this agent had contacted our local competitors and he also interviewed area agents extensively. This agent chose Madeline Island Realty to serve his clients and to look after their interests in the transaction.
After we procured a buyer for that property and received an accepted offer, the referring agent called me to communicate his thanks. He added, "I knew I was dealing with the right guy when I picked you to list my clients' property".
