Selling Cape Cod real estate holds some surprises and occasionally I run into a bit of history that is worth passing on. In Yarmouth off Exit 7 from the mid-Cape highway, better known as the Willow St exit, can take you back in time (if you allow) to the Old Yarmouth Camp Community.

It is a hidden gem found on the other side of the railroad tracks that run parallel to Willow St, in fact you may have seen the sign YCGA as you head toward Hyannis.

Yarmouth Camp Ground Assoc

In 1946, the Methodists sold the property to the camp community association for $5500. Today, the tents are long gone having been replaced by more modern privately owned homes, a grove of pine trees occupies the space where the tabernacle once stood, and the community is quiet and peaceful.
