Something funny happened on the way to making a Pie Chart for my 'Spring Ideas" Blog.

After disregarding the fact that I almost foolishly downloaded some absolutely unneeded programs while trying to download the Pie Chart... and add in the fact that I have had the best winter of my 22 year career...I realized that I may have the perfect solution....

Slowdown and smell the Roses!!

SO many of us get to going so fast...we fail to notice the beautiful smells that surround us and the business that is right under our noses.

We are setting our sights so far down the road that we fail to be prepared for today...because we are working on tomorrow or next week or next year or retirement....

STOP!!! Quit It! Knock It Off! Enough!!

Right Now..This Moment... Take a Deep Breath and Slowly Exhale. Now Do it again only close your eyes and then Take the Deep Breath and Slowly Exhale...

OKAY...Hello....Wake Up!!

You Didn't open your eyes right away did you??? Yeah...me neither.

For me it felt very relaxing and that is good. Really different than what I am (or was) used to.

Mike McCann in Nebraska Has More Fun!!

I think that is how many of us are in our careers...we are so busy...or try to be be so focused and organized...that we really do fail to stop and relax our selves.

I had a nurse a while back tell me to do this and I couldn't believe how relaxing it felt.

SO my new game plan which I started to put into effect in November...is to Relax more...Work Less...Quit Chasing every single Lead...Quit being a Kid in the Candy Store...and Start Having More Fun! At work and with those I Love in a more relaxed way!

Play More! That is Right! You read that correctly. I started playing more and getting out in a relaxed settings more and my quality business soared!! I gave up the junk and even the average leads and in return had time to find the good stuff...the A leads...and I am having the best winter of my career working way less!!

So If You Are Looking for a Spring Idea from Mike McCann in Nebraska has the Best Smelling Roses! me...it is to Take a Deep Breath with Your eyes Closed....in Fact take three or four...But careful...any more than that and they will think you have fallen asleep...and then again, maybe that wouldn't be all bad either.

So if you are playing more and working less..stop by our humble abode in Central Nebraska!!

And if you want to smell the roses...they will start blooming around late April!! Come on by!! Until then...

HHi Mike, very nice post. And I agree we need to play more. And laugh, and love and see and hear and observe way more of life than we do. It means skowing down and taking those momenst to appreciate all the life is shwoing us.

Hi Jerry...The thing is...sometimes we are so focused on chasing leads...the real business thinks we are too busy to help them and they go elsewhere!! I had an investor client who did not use me one time and I asked why and he said he thought I was too busy...but I got him back on his next purchase!! Hope all is well in your area!! Hi Tom...I really do think it is something that all of need to do...if not smelling roses...go to the museum on a regular basis...or the park...or walk slowly around the lake..or for me...enjoy the moment.

Hi Lenn...I going to have to disagree with you on this one. Even if it is in the DNA...and I am iffy on that...there are things that even the most focused and driven enjoy doing outside of their job...and they need to do more of what that is...

By the way all...here is the screen saver I use...it was the last Rose cut from a bush of my neighbor that is no longer alive...I feel a part of Harold is with me every day.

He encouraged me...and I did not listen at the time...to slow down and relax.... Harold I got it figured out now!!
