What’s Changing with @facebook.com

Here's some changes happening right now with Facebook...

"Currently, messages sent to your @facebook.com email address are delivered to your Facebook Messages.

However, we’re updating the way @facebook.com email addresses work, so that soon any email messages that are sent to your @facebook.com email address will no longer go to your Facebook Messages. Instead, these emails will be forwarded to the primary email on your Facebook account. Learn how to add or update your primary email.

As a part of this change, any current Facebook conversations that include an email address will become read-only. This means that you’ll still be able to view the conversation, but you’ll no longer be able to reply to it from your Facebook Messages. To continue the conversation, you can always message people through their Facebook accounts." - facebook.com

The ever changing world of Facebook and the many different looks. Some like it some don't, but we all continue to use it.

I'd noticed that messages were popping up in a different way on my iPhone. Didn't know if I had changed something or not. THANKS!

Is this the same as the new messages app they created? It's pretty nifty how it works!

I don't think I've ever encouraged others to use the @facebook.com  address.  I wonder if people have been...? I guess I'll find out when my gmail account starts getting more emails =)  Thanks for letting us know

I have always had messages go to my primary account, it is just too much hassel tracking down different accounts and vetting the real mail from the junk.

When I noticed that my email address displayed on my profile had changed to an @facebook domain email.  I tried sending an email from facebook to my gmail and it didnt work.  Then I tried to email my @facebook account from my hotmail email address and it didnt work either.  Now, I just ignore the @facebook for any potential email exchanges.

Facebook is always changing and constantly staying ahead of the curve with different forms of delivery. I'm not completely sold on the new message format and delivery but I'm sure in time it will become the norm.

I don't want messages emailed to me!  What a bad idea.  Thanks for sharing the news, even if I don't like it.
