"Buy me some peanuts and cracker jack..."

The first thing that pops into my mind when I think about Spring is nothing other than our national pastime.

The long winter layoff since the last out of the last game of the last series has finally come to an end.

Spring training in Florida is a very special time. It makes for a unique experience where fans can be close up with their favorite baseball players who are stress free and relaxed.

The baseball industry is a huge boom to local economies and causes hotels, restaurants, golf courses and the like to experience a 6 week rush like no other. The rising tide lifts all boats.

Charities receive significant support from various fundraising events sponsored by the professional baseball clubs that are in town preparing for their long season.

Everyone associated with baseball is oozing with optimism during the Spring. Every team is still undefeated and feeling good about the outlook for their season.

Fans get a peek at the youngsters that are up and coming through the professional ranks.

Fresh cut, manicured grass, bright white chalk lines, newly oiled gloves and polished cleats and crisp, clean uniforms are all part of the picturesque scene that baseball offers its audience.

"I don't care if we ever get back..."

Randy, was at Jet Blue the other night. A beer, 2 hot dogs and a bag of peanuts amounted to $27 with another $10 for parking! Luckily, the tickets were free. The great pastime is getting expensive. Did I mention the hotdogs were as cold as the beer! Enjoy your day!
