If you're an Austinite there is no need to convince you!
You already know what a HOT SPOT the Oasis is! But for
you out-of-towners this place is a must see! I was
driving to Lake Travis today and drove past the Oasis
and thought to myself that I have got to tell everyone
on here what a phenomenal restaurant the Oasis Is.
The drive in itself to the Oasis heading west bound on
620 with your car windows down and on a cool breezy
day makes it unforgettable.
When your ever in the Austin area this HAS to be at
the top of your list for places to dine! Sunsets at the
Oasis are a major event! Be sure you check the local
newspaper to find out what time sunset is and try
going about about 30-45 minutes before hand.
If you can't catch a sunset, the Oasis still has a lot
to offer! It has one of the most breath taking views
of Lake Travis and the surrounding Hill Country!
I almost totally forgot about this place which is hard to do! But, back on June 1, 2005 the Oasis was struck by lightning and a fire started which devastated much of the facility. I remember I was driving in my car and hey were talking about it on almost every single radio station. Fortunately the place has been totally rebuilt and is open for business!! Here is a before and after!
