Sounds weird however after 9 hours with out of state buyer clients showing condos for a second home in Burlington, Vermont I was ready for dinner. When I got home I asked my wife if she would like to go to the Tavern for dinner. Well SURE!
We went down the road to the "Town Tavern" , a nice local place owned by a REALTOR® friend who recently opened in Shelburne, Vermont.
We had just ordered and I could hear the waitress telling the couple next to us that they were going to be announcing the winner of the Hammerhead Pro sled. The entry was by guessing the qty of wine corks in a jar. I said is there time for me to guess? She said sure!
Now I am not a math wizard however I am good at guessing so I looked at the jar and told the guy 108 corks. Eight minutes later they announced the winners.
Yes, there was a tie with two of us with the correct answer (folks had been putting in guesses since March 8th) so it went to a blind draw from a hat. The girl looks at the slip and says Dan.. Dane.. Dana.
Next the owner/President of the company (who donated the sled to the Tavern) comes over to sign it and pose for a photo. I fixed the photo up so they could use it for PR (of course we know about PR don't we)
The Hammerhead Sled was thought up, designed and manufactured right here in Vermont by a Vermonter. It is doing very well and sales are brisk.
I am proud to have it and will use it here during our long winters of which we are still having despite it being the third day of spring. (Heck the maple sap isn't really running yet and that is late) (worry, worry)
So thanks to the Town Tavern (Pat Hicks) for having good food, good atmosphere, good people and fun things plus thanks to Steve Luhr for donating the sled and being a cool guy to boot. A fun time was had by all!
Cheers, DanaB
