I have never really been into the drama of life- if it is a choice.  Sometimes it isn't a choice, I realize, but often it is. I run from it.  Not because it intimidates me or that I am weak.  It is because I CHOOSE not to let my life be overtaken by things that really don't matter.

Some people choose to seek out drama and then thrive on it.  To me it is exhausting and it isn't worth spending my time and energy on.

I am a fairly private person.  I don't like to share my "dirty laundry" and certainly don't like when people in my life try to "clean MY dirty clothes" for me.

I was reading Adam Waldman's post the other day  In The End...It Doesn't Even Matter  I guess- I KNOW, this is my philosophy as well.

Today is Easter... now, that is a drama in itself.  But it's not made up drama, it's real!

In the end, there is only one thing that really does matter. There is some good stuff that life allows along the way, but it is only the beginning.

So, in the end, how do you feel about drama, the kind where people witll either read (in the case of a post/blog) or see into things, "stuff" or intentions, that really aren't even there?  Do you run or do you thrive?

Have a HAPPY EASTER!

Good post, Kim. I am naturally an emotional (no drama) kind of guy, who has learned over the last year or so that so much of the stuff we worry about or get angry about truly does not matter. (except the Red Sox beating the Yankees) It's how we react to it which does. we need to enjoy each day and make an impact, to make positive change in the lives we can affect. Happy Easter.

Hmmm...I don't do either...run or  thrive. My on-line life is just a part of the whole. I won't let it take over and touch me in a negative way. I also know that our on-line words live forever and so therefore I am careful of what I put out there.  I worry about fair housing rules, anti-trust stuff like that so I do avoid anything that smells like that. I enjoy blogging and enjoy hanging in the Rain but I choose where I go and play based on my likes and dislikes....and I have all the drama I need in my day to day life...don't need or want more on line. Some people thrive in drama and write posts designed to create drama and love the negative stuff... not me.

Happy Easter Kim. I'm actually meeting a customer today...

Very well put Kim.  I really love your comment "clean MY dirty clothes"  I am a Newbie to AR so am not sure what the drama was all about.  Glad for that. Happy Easter

Great point.......life is short......no time for drama..............have a Happy Easter

Kim  There is no avoiding the drama when dealing with people making one of the largest financial decisions of their life, and we all feel weak in the face of resistance, when you feel this way it is important to take a day off and don't think about business for one day.Happy Easter

Kim..very good post..it seems..some people just live for drama...I tend to run from it...those people are like a cancer!

Kim - this is a great posting - I am the same way - I try not to air my dirty laundry and I try not to hear anybodies else's either.  I just don't but up with negative things.  If there is something you don't like in your life - CHANGE IT.

03/23/2008 08:01 AM by Vincent McKamy Realtor Fredericksburg Virginia (Coldwell Banker Elite)

You are right about life allows some good stuff, but it is only the beginning. No drama for me please. Just get out and live life to your best ability, and if life throws you a curve ball, hit it out of the park. May God bless you each and every day!

03/23/2008 08:17 AM by Kevin Robinson (Crownline Home Builders)

Hi Kim, the drama of life is exhausting.  I don't run from it but I don't participate either.  Life is to short to spend time on issues that will not change or create change for the better.  Nice post.  Have a great Easter.

KIM - You were put through very unfair drama this week.  It's one thing when people want to have a constructive conversation.  It's quite another when you are viciously attacked.  You did not deserve your drama.  In The End, all that matters is that you are true to yourself and you have no problem looking in the mirror.  The rest is all nonsense.  Have a Happy Easter, Kim.  Thanks for mentioning me.

Mike- Go Sox!!! I have been learning as I go through... I hate to admit it, but as I get older it gets easier.

Monika- I hear you... and agree as well... online words can and do last forever.  Luckily I am not ashamed of anything I have written so far and hope to keep it that way!  I guess we can be near the drama and not run away but it is a choice whether to take part or not.  I don't..

Can't believe you are meeting a customer...  We went to church and had our family dinner already, so actually if someone wanted to do business today, I would be there as well... guess we are die hards...or we are there when our clients need us!

03/23/2008 12:03 PM by Kim Carpenter-Lake Winnipesaukee REALTOR -Lake Winnipesaukee Real Estate, NH (Coldwell Banker)

Kristi- AR is awesome... and you will see drama once in a while BUT it was a while before I even knew it existed here...  Just blog away and participate (like Monika said) in the posts that interest you... sometimes it will find you even if you are not looking for it!!!

03/23/2008 12:05 PM by Kim Carpenter-Lake Winnipesaukee REALTOR -Lake Winnipesaukee Real Estate, NH (Coldwell Banker)

Steve- you agree with me, sometimes there is no avoiding it and the best thing to do IS step away for a moment...or two.

03/23/2008 12:09 PM by Kim Carpenter-Lake Winnipesaukee REALTOR -Lake Winnipesaukee Real Estate, NH (Coldwell Banker)

Laura- Good for you!  Keep life simple! There is very little that really matters... life on earth is TEMPORARY!

03/23/2008 12:10 PM by Kim Carpenter-Lake Winnipesaukee REALTOR -Lake Winnipesaukee Real Estate, NH (Coldwell Banker)

Vincent- it sounds like we have similar personalities... I am sure  you are happy even when your life isn't perfect...no?

03/23/2008 12:16 PM by Kim Carpenter-Lake Winnipesaukee REALTOR -Lake Winnipesaukee Real Estate, NH (Coldwell Banker)

Kevin- Sounds like you know what I am saying here!  Funny I just realized that I tried to make people read into this post and my point of it was the opposite.  Happy EASTER!  Oh well, I am not perfect, thats for sure- never claimed to be!

03/23/2008 12:18 PM by Kim Carpenter-Lake Winnipesaukee REALTOR -Lake Winnipesaukee Real Estate, NH (Coldwell Banker)

Kim:  I really felt for you as I read through all the vicious attacks that were aimed at you.  People like that are just not worth a second thought.  I am a member on  another on-line group and there are folks on there that can be trouble makers too.  Unfortunately, it's just something that exists.  Some people are just like that.  I think that people who attack others anonymously from behind the safety of their computer screens are just plain cowards and most likely don't have real lives to keep them busy, so they create this on-line drama to fill up their empty lives.  That's my take on it anyway.  Take care & Happy Easter!

Adam's post sounds interesting.  I'll have to give it a read.

Charles- sounds fun to me, up here the eggs would still have been in the SNOW!!!  I bet it was beautiful where you are... I am glad you enjoyed your day!

03/23/2008 05:50 PM by Kim Carpenter-Lake Winnipesaukee REALTOR -Lake Winnipesaukee Real Estate, NH (Coldwell Banker)

Katherine - thanks for your comment.  I totally agree with "your take"...  I am not giving them a second thought.  They are not my clients nor ever would be!  Let them have their fun... they have moved on to someone else I am sure!!!  Just say "no" to drama!!! LOL

03/23/2008 05:53 PM by Kim Carpenter-Lake Winnipesaukee REALTOR -Lake Winnipesaukee Real Estate, NH (Coldwell Banker)

Thanks Kim for another great post.  I am one that will not deal with drama.  Life has too much to offer to be in a bunch of mess.  Some people's lives are based on DRAMA.  If there is no drama they may not have anything left to do or nothing to talk about.

Keep up the great posts.  Hope your Easter was as relaxing and joyful as mine.  No Drama at all.  God Bless

03/24/2008 01:45 PM by Sonya Rosser (ERA Buckhead Realty)

Kim, You were certainly thrown under the bus this week. It's great when you have a post picked up by a popular site but why oh why did it have to be housingpanic!!! Way too many nasties over there. I wish they'd stay.....over there!!

03/24/2008 06:00 PM by Bryant Tutas-Tutas Towne Realty, Inc

I try to run from drama, I do however know a few people that are like magnets towards drama!

03/24/2008 07:19 PM by Jeremy Blanton- Myrtle Beach Real Estate ,Coldwell Banker Chicora (Coldwell Banker Chicora Real Estate)

Kim - Drama is something that should be reserved for the stage or screen but sometimes we get caught up in our own real life drama without really desiring it and must weather the storm so to speak. I don't relish getting into someone elses drama unless necessary.

03/25/2008 10:51 AM by Judy Tuscano, NH Real Estate Professional (Prudential Verani Realty)

i think your clipart photo is appropo - life is both drama and comedy - and if not.....you're not truly alive.........just my take...i'd say your blogs this weeks generated a fair bit of drama........and i enjoyed them and the passion!  Also judging by the commentaries.......others enjoyed playing in your 'drama'.........so its not all bad.............so no for me to creat some 'drama' blogs.......i could use a comment or two..........otherwise it feels like its all for naught! lol

03/26/2008 01:58 AM by Liz Moras, Re/Max Associate Broker Chilliwack (Vancouver), B.C. (Remax Nyda Realty Chilliwack B.C.)

I'll have to take a look at Adam's post.  Such a great post Kim, a lot of people thrive off of drama and that is so unhealthy.  Great picture!
