I admit I love to get outdoors in the winter and finding a beautiful view can be hard work , can take a big commitment and can take lots of equipment...not on these hikes. Here are a few of my favorite "walks" that don't require a mountaineering degree to enjoy or do!!

The Flume Gorge is A New Hampshire State Park...it is also only a couple of miles from my real estate office... I can get there quickly and easily any time of year. Once you pass through the Covered Bridge that spans the Pemigewasset River...the fun begins.

The Actual Gorge was discovered by accident by a 90 year old women (a 100 years ago) who wondered off looking for a fishing hole...the rest is history. the 80 foot Granite walls of ice in Winter are impressive... as are the moss covered stone with board walking running through in the summer months.

The View Offered from Artist Bluff (a 15 minute hike) is awesome for the effort...I do recommend a good set of ice Cleats for this hike...the rocks can get slippery. The view is of Eagle Cliff and Mount Lafayette as well as the Franconia Notch State Park.

The sister hike (great to do at the same time) is Bald Knob...The view is of Cannon Mountain ski area and Echo Lake, both are State parks and offer Tram rides and a unspoiled mountain lake with a beach when the snow goes away in the summer time.

Mount Rattlesnake (no worries there are no Rattlesnakes here) over looks Squam lake this beautiful spot is an easy hike where I often see parents with kids and dogs maybe a half an hour trek...with a rewarding view of the lake...(where golden pond was shot).
