Bull moose drop their antlers in winter.
Look where the antler used to be, it looks like there’s a hole in his head!
If I were that moose, I might be thinking, “I need this real estate agent taking my photo like I need (another) hole in my head!”
Or – “I need another car blocking my way like I need another hole in my head!”
Or maybe he would be thinking- “come back in the summer when I don’t have a hole in my head!”
One of the great things about living in the areas surrounding Red Feather is the wildlife. Being able to see them every day shows us a natural, peaceful order of things- far removed from the hustle of a city, any worries about missing planes, landslides, contracts, emails... etc.
I never tire of seeing the wildlife. Deer, moose, elk, and birds that sing or soar, fox, coyote, bear, mountain lion, little squirrels, rabbits and chipmunks- they all capture my attention and even if just for a second, my thoughts turn to a whisper and they take my breath away. They are wild and carefree.
In spite of the “hole in his head”, this guy seemed OK with the brief photo shoot and interruption of his carefree day.
