March is the Month for NCAA Basketball

For people that enjoy the highest level of competition at the college, March is the month when enthusiasm and interest is at it's highest. For 68 of the best teams in Division 1 basketball it's one and done in the quest to name the best team for the 2013-2014 season.

March is the Month for NCAA Basketball

Across 3 weeks games run continuously and viewers get to follow their favorites as they attempt to continue. The upcoming weekend, Mar 29-30 the teams will be competing in the Sweet 16 for the first 2 days with elimination to get to the Elite 8 on the second half. Winners advance to the Final 4, which will be at Arlington TX on the night of April 8.

So far there have been several upsets of top seeds being eliminated by higher seeds, and even a #1 seed, Wichita State is gone. Our Connecticut men are still fighting and will be competing Fri evening in Madison Square Garden for the right to play again on Sunday.

Ed, the UCONN men have advanced further than I thought they would, but I expect the UCONN women to go all the way.  I love this time of the year for sports.

Greatest time of the year for sports in my opinion, Ed.  March Madness followed by the NHL playoffs -  I'm hoping the UConn men can continue to surprise, and the women continue to roll, great to have both teams heading to the sweet 16!

Good morning, Ed. It is amazing how some of the 'Picks' have been eliminated by the underdogs. Goes to show you, anyone can be a winner.

Good morning Ed. As usual there have been many unexpected results this tournament. I for one am not surprised that the UConn men gave gotten to this point, if the two guards continue playing the way they are, they can beat anyone in the country. The women are just a machine and should win another championship.

George, this game with Iowa State will be a chance for a UConn redemption as they were the last team to beat our team in the NCAA.

John, it would be something if the UConn teams were able to repeat the fete they accomplished in 2004 and both win again.

Kathy, Coach K was not a happy camper but they were inconsistent all year.

Michael, it is the thing that makes it so interesting.

Joe, the women are certainly playing to a different standard, and the men are playing with emotion and heart to enjoy the moment.

Ginny, give your choices a little lean West
