We still have snow on the ground here in Virginia, but if you’re lucky enough to live somewhere warm and toasty—you’re probably already enjoying refreshing spring weather. While you’re cleaning all those heavy winter sweaters and down jackets out of your closet, don’t forget to clean up your marketing as well.
Hopefully, you know that keeping your marketing material fairly consistent in appearance will increase your brand recognition. With this in mind, it can’t hurt to update your materials—especially if it appears dated. Nothing screams “Call Me!” like a clean and stylish personalized marketing product.
Your marketing materials should feature:
- Updated contact information- Don’t overload your business card, calendar magnets, or sports schedules with unneeded information like fax numbers. How often does prospective client send you a fax without calling or emailing you to inform you? Probably never.
- Consistent colors and design elements- If you love purple, and your business cards are purple—your other marketing materials probably should too. Don’t be obnoxious about it, but you won’t believe how effective subtle hints like color can increase brand recognition.
- Updated photograph—Not a necessity, it’s understandable if you don’t want your picture plastered all over the place, but hey—if it works—it works. And one thing we know, is that when your face is on your marketing products, people are more likely to remember you name, and go figure—your face. However, if your picture is from 1995, it’s probably time to update.
We know you’re busy, but don’t get so wrapped up in making sales you forget to keep your marketing fresh! Do you have any tips for enhancing brand consistency and recognition? How about tips for a creative marketing personalization? We’d love to hear your suggestions and comments below.
