How’s the Weather in Palos Verdes?

The southern coast of Palos Verdes CA

One of the things I love most about Palos Verdes is the weather. I’ve lived in many areas of the United States and the weather here is by far the best in my opinion.

November through March is our winter rainy season in Southern California, although we still have more than our fair share of wonderful sunny days, it’s a good idea to know where your umbrella is, and make sure to grab a jacket before leaving home. It may be sunny in the morning but blustery and cold by afternoon. One of the first things I learned about Palos Verdes weather after moving here nearly 25 years ago was to dress in layers. Then slowly peel away the layers, or add them, as the weather of the day dictates.

When a winter storm arrives it often lingers for a few days. The umbrella becomes your constant companion, then just as you are beginning to feel as though you’re in London or Seattle, the sunshine is back and the umbrella is relegated to rolling around in the trunk of your car once again.

I enjoy the coastal fog and the occasional winter storm, but I like sunshine most of all. I’m happy to report there is plenty of it in Palos Verdes.

Hi Norma... I lived in the Bay Area for a couple of years a long time ago now. I loved the coastal fog in the mornings. Indeed, the weather where you are is very beautiful. Right now, here in the Pacific Northwest we're running between showers! But, when the sun does come out, it's wonderful!

Rene - I'm so very spoiled by our Southern California weather--even if we do have to endure a few earthquakes!
