Spring comes early in Dallas. By early March, our daytime temperatures allow us to enjoy most outdoor activities. That means trips to my favorite outdoor places.
The Dallas Arboretum is the perfect place to visit any day of the week if you want to "get away from it all." I love to stroll through the colorful gardens, or sit in the Spring sun, on a bench overlooking White Rock Lake and read a book. Not to be missed is tea at the DeGolyer House, or having a bite to eat at Cafe on the Green. Tea requires advance reservations.
Visiting the Butterfly Garden, at the Bath House Cultural Center near White Rock Lake is always a treat. Walking or biking around the lake is a great way to exercise, without feeling like you are exercising. The dog park at the north end White Rock Lake is a popular destination for pet owners all year round.
The Nasher Sculpture Garden is also a favorite destination in the Spring. Lunch is available at the Nasher Cafe by Wolfgang Puck. Seating is available indoors or outdoors overlooking the Garden.
Take time to enjoy one or all of these local destinations this Spring!
