Each year, we receive this great challenge:

Of course, it is all about trying to get business, keep the income flow; therefore, this Grasshopper is conducting this Sensei Search for a Lead Generation Guru, wanting a helper who can be a guide with systems for generating leads at a NO COST or LOW COST per lead basis.  There is a lot of money being made by third party vendors who want to SELL and RE-SELL us leads. Sensei, I want to be able to find the FREE ways to generate leads.  Can you guide me?

I'm tired of these callers stating I've done something wrong.  Each week, at least 1 or 2 calls come from a party who says "We can help you improve your lead search, and can do this for you at a certain price."  Some of them have heavy accents.  Some, you can hear the activity of other people in the background.  I assume calling on their phones too.  

It has gotten so common, that my answer is "Not interested" but they keep talking.  after saying, several times that I'm not interested what they have to offer, I have to say no, so many times that I simply hang up on them.  My wife tells me, "they have to work, need to support their families and they are just trying their best to go through their canned speech, so be nice!"

I totally agree as when they say "I found your name on Google page 1 for Redlands, CA so for $1000 I can put your name higher up on Google page 1 so more people will see it. How did you find me I ask? Well I googled (verb) Redlands and your name came up. "So why do I need to pay you $1000?" Then I hang up. Great Post!!!!

Well Kristin, I just received one of those calls.  I told him, I'm not interested but he kept talking as if he didn't hear me.  He asked if I made over xxxxxxx last month. I didn't answer, just put down the phone.  He didn't call back.

I was lookin for a Sensei but seems no one has stepped up.  Seems like YouTube has come to the rescue, I found several hours worth of vids on generating free leads.  Maybe, I will have to be a Sensei after pulling all this together.

I too started like you on a shoestring budget and I have figured out how to pull as high as 300 leads per month and consistently 100 leads per month.  

Know this... this is my 5th year with the most technologically advanced Real Estate company in America and they have mastered the art of Real Estate.

I would be glad to speak with you and share ideas if you like.

If it helps to know, I only closed twice as many transactions as any other Realtor in my local board of 1400 agents last year, so while I am far from a Master, I think I can safely qualify as a Sensei.

I am NOT a Realtor, but I have worked with thousands of Realtors over the years through my courses, seminars, workshops. 

  SSSSOOOOO, I have seen and heard it all, systems, tapes, videos that somehow are going to create leads that will turn into sales !! 

 Good luck with that direction and let me know how that goes:)

 If you want leads, you have to be where the leads are, you need to be availabale, be visible, spend you time cultivating, nurturing, stay in contact, reach out, communicate and spend  the time, energy and resources to make all of these wonderful activites bear fruit for you.

If there was a magicall, cure in a book , tape, video , web site , software  program, do you think they would sell it to you? Why, ??, They would  keep it  for themselves, hire people,keep all the massive profits for themselves .

Lead generation systems, and there are thousands out there, are the send me a stamp self addreseed  envelope and 10.00 dollars and I will make you rich  scheme of the  Realator Internet world. 

Lastly, I gave my first seminar in 1979, in that seminar, there was guy who had a SURE FIRE way to get leads, cheap leads that closed, sound familar? Its now 2014,. same speel, same pitch , same results, same dog,  diffrent fleas ;)

I would love if someone would like to help me with this as well. I moved to a new state five months ago and have been floundering ever since. I guess all the years of "SOI, SOI, SOI" made me forget how to prospect successfully.

Bruce, there is a reason they are calling you and it's because you are not finding them!! They are either scraping leads from brokerage sites or searching for terms that will give them names. They call and twist your arm to spend money with them to pay for their efforts! Your website should have a call to action on the page. You could also spend some money on an adwords campaign and spend less than the $1000 they are asking for!

Posting about your area and speciality here on AR used to be a great way to generate leads. But that's not so much the case anymore. Viewing the replays from 2014 Blogging Bootcamp might give you some ideas, though.
