I mentioned earlier this week what I was doing with the family on easter: Moving On Easter
We spent all day moving. It was fun and a good workout! We almost suffered injuries when we dropped the couch on my brother. (He should not have been under the couch). The Oak Entertainment Center was the heaviest and hardest to move.
I suggested to my dad that he should throw some of this stuff away. He had a plethora of responses like, "Its an antique", "I slept in that crib when I was a baby", "We might be able to sell it for $1.00 at a garage sale"...the list could go on.
I joked and said "I don't think anyone else in the history of earth has ever moved a FARM and only had one bag of garbage to throw away after they moved!" Seriously there was only one bag of garbage that they threw away.
Well at least I don't have to be the person sorting through the junk (nice stuff). I was surprised that we got so much accomplished! Good thing my sister has a big house.
I will post some pictures soon! How many people spend 8 hours moving on Easter? Thats what we do up in Browerville, MN...
Congds on the successful move. Here in the South we leave the broom in the old house. Something about leave behind the bad and getting a fresh start at the new home.
Any such traditions up North
