One of the things I like to do in my spare time is to attend Christian Concerts. I used to be in Christian Radio Advertising so I got to meet a lot of artists. But I actually got to get closer to them after I left radio. I actually get to give back by being what they call in concert venues a Runner.
One of my good friends is a Concert promoter and he brings in all the artists and I get to serve as the runner for them. That means I basically attend to their needs, like driving them around if they want to go somewhere in town, make store runs for anything they may need, trips to Starbucks.... (that happens at every concert) or to get them food for after the show.
Here are some pics that I thought I would share from some of the concerts I have been to. I have more but they are on another computer hard drive and some need to be scanned still. I will share those in another post sometime!
This is one of our earlier concerts when my boys were much younger. This is us with Seventh Day Slumber when they appeared at The Shed in Sallisaw, Oklahoma. (I am in the middle and Alan is on the left and Aaron right in front of me!)
Here we are the same year I think, this is my youngest son Aaron and I with Michael Tait from DC Talk at Shout Fest on October 12th, 2003.
This is Alan and Aaron with Barlow Girl, they are always happy to have their pics taken with the chicks!
This is actually a picture I TOOK of Mac Powell from Third Day at the Alltel Arena in Little Rock. I have a really great one of the whole band but this is my pride and joy! I had another pic of us together a year later at The AMP in Fayetteville, AR. on my cell phone taken back stage after the show but I never sent it to my computer and I dropped my phone and it died. I lost everything!!! I think a friend of mine has a pic of me with the band, presenting them with the band shot I took the year before along with this pic that I presented to Mac in really nice frames with plaques on them. It was really cool!
This is me with Toby Mac he really puts on a high energy show. My boys loved him! I did too! Don't mind the picture, this was me at my heaviest weight in years.... :-(
This was the same concert with Toby Mac but here I am with Matthew West. This was a neat event for my youngest son Aaron. He had just turned 13 and he loved Matthew`s Hit song titled Thirteen!
So thats all for this post folks. I have more pictures but will have to pull them off old computers and scan some of them. I will do another post when I can get that done!
I hope you enjoyed a little bit of Davis family fun time!
The next concert we will be attending will be at the Fort Smith Convention Center where we will see Casting Crowns for the second time!
Check out the post on that concert here.
The pictures from the 1st concert with Casting Crowns were ruined by over exposure.... ROAR!!!! But I will have some great ones this time. Look forward to that post in April!
Happy Easter Everyone!
