I want my LTV....

By
Real Estate Agent with Maverick Realty

No.  I am not talking about my loan to value ratio.  I am talking about my new found love for my laptop and active rain -instead of TV. (not that I ever "loved" TV)Laptop

I told my husband the other day, "my laptop is my new TV."  (for short, my laptop TV or "LTV" ) He enjoys his flat-screen TV.  I have never really been a fan of TV.  Let me clarify what I mean.  Maybe you can identify with me.  When my husband watches television with that remote control thing attached to his hand as he surfs the channels constantly, he doesn't usually hear anything I say, and he really would rather I not attempt too many conversations with him.  He will "yes" me to death and doesn't really hear me.

Well, now that I have found active rain, and the oodles of wonderful information and some great people to hang out with, I spend some time playing and working in the rain. And even sharing my sadness. And I must add here, there are some really sincere and genuine people in the rain, and I am so thankfulfor those people...and they know who they are because we speak to each other through our comments and through our posts.

As I was on the Internet with my laptop the other day and he kept talking with me, I later found myself telling him  "you know how when you watch TV and you would rather me not interrupt your show, well just pretend this is my TV and I don't really want to be interrupted either."  He didn't really know what to say, I just had to laugh!!!

Is there anyone else out there that can relate?  Is your computer or laptop more important to you than your TV?  It is to me. It is so much more relaxing and useful to me than watching ridiculous shows on the darned old TV!  Is anyone out there with me on this?

Email me your thoughts on this or make a comment on this post. I would love to hear from you. If you are looking to relocate to a wonderful place, try Owensboro,KY- check out my website and view all of the homes for sale in Owensboro,KY.

Vickie, Boy, this one hit home. I use my laptop in the same room as my husband's big screen TV. The only time there is a bit of a problem...when I am listening to one of Jeff Turner's online tutorials.

Agreed I want my LTV....

Thanks for a delightful post.

For a minute I thought you meant LTV as in Loan to Value ratio:)

Hi Vickie, think the TV is a little more important, but have to say that both of us are having a great time with Active Rain.  There really is alot of valuable info out there and at the same time, learn a little about other markets.   And, our laptop is stationed right alongside of the TV -- we can do both at the sime time!

Ditto and Ditto plus I find my self reading and learning more in 30 min of Active Rain then 30 mins of America Idol or Nanny 911 or some of these other time fillers that cover the air waves. I say I need to learn to focus my reading and learning so that I am not up all night tiring to catch up.

If I were stranded on an island, what would I want to have with me??? My laptop of course. Most of todays tv shows, are a waste of memory space in my brain. Give me AR, and I'm happy!

Lissa, You better have some darn good internet connection and a huge supply of batteries! But then you wouldn't HAVE be stranded anymore..

Heather- Sometimes the TV may be on, but I pay no attention to it especailly if I am playing in the rain.

Miriam - I just took the image link off (it was a computer keyboard) because I couldn't get it to work right.

Andrew- I do most of my shopping on the internet.  It saves me alot of time as well as money$

Miriam- it sure was great speaking with you on the phone last night.  I have tried to listen to tutorials in the same room as my husband while he is watching TV, it can get loud and distracting!

Ernie and Barb- I can't say that the TV is more important.  I could actually do with out a TV, but now my laptop and internet, I can't do without at all.  I am having a great time in the rain.  But, most imprtantly, I am learning so much!

Eric-I get side tracked alot in here too,it's very easy to do!

VICKIE, I have never been a big television person. If anything my AR addiction cuts in to my reading.  I was always running out of books to read though and with AR I have a constant stream of new information to read.

Most TV is just a mind thief.  Something brainless to do when you're too lazy to do anything else.

LTV on the other hand requires thinking and learning.

I'm all for the LTV over the TV.
