101 Reasons to love Charlotte / Reason #1 A Change of Seasons

As I begin this series titled 101 Reasons To Love Charlotte, the Bradford Pears and Flowering Cherry trees light up the landscape with their stunning blooms.  Pansies and daffodils lift their faces to the sun with a smile to greet the warming spring weather. The bird song is much more apparent as they seek out this year's favorite nesting places.

A noticeable change of seasons is one of the reasons I moved here and spring is one of my favorites.  Everything is new, fresh and green which brings a season of hope and fresh ambition to many. Bradfords on Pond

As spring gives way to summer the water warms up, pools open and picnics and trips to the beach are in order. We are approximately three and a half hours from Myrtle Beach which is a very popular spot for Charlotte residents.

Then there is the fall. Temperatures are mild and the color is spectacular with the maples showing off their fancy yellow, orange and red leaves. Pumpkin patches are abundant and it seems everyone decorates!

Winter is my friend.  A time when everything slows down.  Shorter days force us to come inside, light a fire in the fireplace, pick up a book or some project or maybe even get a little extra sleep. I have to admit, I love snow!  River Birch in SnowNortherners find it funny that Charlotte closes down when it snows but since many of us have never driven in snow we are all better off for it!  You would think a hurricane was coming the way we rush to the store to buy milk and bread!

Our Charlotte weather brings many people to the area. Those who are tired of shoveling snow or just can't do it anymore and those who, like me want to experience something other than months of hot, humid weather come here to enjoy the change of seasons.
