farmers market

This is one of the best ideas I've heard about in a long, long time!  With all the fresh fruits and vegetables that are grown in our local area in the spring and summer, this event is going to be a success!  This is a great idea for local families and for visitors to our warm climate.

Hi, Susan,

Yes, I agree!  Spring is the time of year to enjoy more veggies, fruit, salads, etc ... and walking around the farmers market is great exercise, too!

Hi Jan:  Those all look so absolutely yummy.  But, a lot of good they are going to do me at 1:00am.  I just love shopping at Farmer's Markets.  Nothing quite like them.  Thanks for sharing.

Jan E:  I just love Farmer's Markets.  I'm glad I had already eaten my dinner... this post would have made me very hungry.  Are you still coming to Nashville this weekend?

Hi, KA,

I'm really looking forward to this downtown event.  We really don't have anything like this.. just a very very small farmers market at the fair grounds for a few weeks during the summer.  People just drive up and sell stuff out of their truck beds!  Not so much fun... this should be soooo much better!

Hi Jan,
Love a Farmer's market and all the fresh fruits, vegetables and flowers.  Ours won't open for about another month when strawberries are ready.

Bill and Barbara Jo-

That is so true... why is it that vegetables at a farmers market just have a better taste than the ones in the grocery?  Something satisfying about buying veggies directly from a farmer, I think!

Jan, I love farmers' markets. We are just starting our "Viva Downtown" in June and every Thursday night we have art, wine and a farmers market in Redding. I'm getting ready to do a nice post on it. It is my favorite thing to do. You do a lot of nice work for your consumer. That's what it's all about. Enjoyed the read!

Christina,

Where you live, I would think you could get fresh home-grown produce all the time.  Thanks for commenting.

Christina, I never thought of a farmers market in Panama City. I always think of a seafood market when we are in Panama City.

Greg,

We do have some goooooood seafood here .... fresh from the Gulf of Mexico!  But we are also right in the middle of some good farming areas.... and close enough to Alabama and Georgia to have some fresh "God-grown" fruit and vegetables to enjoy!
