NH Maple SyrupLiving in New Hampshire places us right in the middle of the #1 maple syrup producer, Vermont and the #2 maple syrup producer, Maine. During this time of year it is all about The Maple Tree.

This past Sunday was "Maine Maple Sunday" and this blogger shared with thousands of Mainer's who poured native maple syrup on thier pancakes and over ice cream. If you haven't had FRESH maple syrup from a local Sugar Shack you really haven't tasted REAL maple syrup.

Now in case you think you missed out in this celebration of the sweet tooth, NH has it's own Maple Syrup Weekend and it is coming up this Saturday March 29th and Sunday March 30th.

Over 50 sugarhouses will be open and welcoming visitors throughout the state. Some sugarhouses are also offering pancakes breakfasts, sugar on snow ( you gotta try this if you haven't had this one...), musical entertainment and of course the opportunity to learn about the history and skills required to make maple syrup.

The NH maple syrup industry produces close to 90,000 gallons of maple syrup....Now that is A LOT of pancakes to be covered! New Hampshire

Find a local sugar house near you by visiting the NH Maple producers website. If you live in the North Conway NH area, the following are Carroll County Sugar Houses that will be enjoying Maple Sugar Madness this coming weekend.

If your readers are looking for a maple sugar fix in the Grafton County and are traveling near Woodstock NH, Try Peg's Restaurant, where the Fadden Family operate a maple business right in town on Main St.

Hey there Susie,

How about smothering some bacon and/or sausages in maple syrup? THEN you will get your protein...:) Right?!

Kevin,

Anytime you want some native NH maple syrup just let me know and I would be happy to ship ya' some in trade for a spiff at Cactus Petes Resort Casino! If I remember right they aren't too far from Twin Falls... right?

Jerry, thanks for compliments...I gotta admit that some days I feel as though I hit the BLOG WALL and wonder if there is anything I can come up with that people would enjoy.

Eugene, it is so ironic that you mentioned the Master Cleanse...I just finished Glickman's book, "Lose Weight, Have More Energy and Be Happier in 10 Days" and have been considering this detox. The cayenne and maple syrub combo is a bit hard to swallow ( pun intended!) but I do the value in the detox program. Did it have a beneficial effect for you?

Hey Sean, the master cleanse was great. It was rough the first couple of days, but then got easier by the 3rd or 4th day. I was able to do it for 21days. It gives your body a chance to detox, your digestive system a chance to rest, and brings clarity to your thoughts. I recommend it for anyone, but  you will get tired of lemons, maple syrup, and cayenne pepper after awhile.
