Montecillo is one of the most beautiful and private communities in San Diego County. It is located in a very private and serene setting yet just a short two minute drive to the I5 or five minute drive to the most beautiful beaches you’ll find anywhere in the world! Play golf or tennis? Lomas Santa Fe Country Club is a short walk or golf cart ride away. Since the only reason to go to Montecillo is if you own a home or visiting friends, traffic is at a minimum making it an ideal place to raise a family.

What's the Neighborhood Like?
One of the things that makes Montecillo so special is homes are located on one to one and a half acre lots. This not only gives you privacy but the opportunity to have a resort style home. Some neighbors have built lavish swimming pools with Jacuzzi’s, others have built tennis courts (with lights!), some have done both, others have planted palm trees and flowers and others have added a guest home for visitors. Homes vary in size from 2300 sqft to over 5000. Homes were built in the 1960’s some have been completely redone while others still carry the original charm. Some homes have Ocean and/or peak Del Mar Race Track views as well as 4th of July Fireworks. The roads surrounding the community are private so there are HOA fees of $550 per year to maintain the roads.

Besides being minutes to the freeway and beach, the Montecillo Neighborhood of Del Mar CA has several quality restaurants. A few would be Sea and Smoke, Sublime, Taste Of Thai, Tabu Sushi Bar and Grill are within a mile. Within five minutes is beautiful Olde Downtown Del Mar with Pacifica, Il Fornaio, or Beachfront dining at The Poseidon or Jake’s. Fantasic grocery shopping is less than a mile away at Whole Foods Market Del Mar or Kudler Fine Foods as well as a Von’s. One of the best kept secrets for theater is the world class award winning North Coast Repertory Theatre less than a mile away.
