Travel Tips via George Hobica. Can I buy a HOME with Air miles?

By

Well not really, but some companies offer 2 air miles per $1,000 spent on either buying or selling a home through their company.

So, sell a $200,000 home with those folks and you'll get 400 miles. Better than nothing but not as good as shopping online for things FOR THE HOME PURCHASE.

If you or your client sign up for air miles shopping alerts this can be helpful.

I get an email that says "today only, 6 miles per dollar.

When you buy online for anything INCLUDING furnishings for a home these miles can add up.

Flying from US to London, just 15,000 miles can pop you from economy seats to fancy meals (steak and lobster dinner) and free drinks (like a Bellini, etc) in first class, plus all the perks that go along wit frst class Lay down seats, slipper, hot cloths for your face and hands, sleep masks, movies, internet, pillows and blankets and more. (I only know this from my children who fly that way! LOL)

So watch for the specials, like buy a couch for $1,000 at Pottery Barn on a day when they offer 6 miles per dollar (that's a lot, usually it is just 1 or 2 miles per dollar) and you've got 6,000 miles. You're just about half way to first class and just by buying something the new house needs anyway.

I may have to sell my cabin furnished and move so i can see why my girls love to fly way more than their mom does.

Here is a great website for flying tips as well.

Enjoy.
