At Retirement Age.....Buy A New Bed & Mattress

Some sellers of mine had a nice bed in their home and decided to move to a single story house. So they found the new home and sold the 2 story home they had owned for 10 years. When the movers brought in the furniture the bed (Queen) looked lost in the new bedroom. Considering they had had their mattress (Stearns & Foster) for 29 years, it was time to buy a new foam mattress and larger bed for the couple and their dogs.

Don't wait to buy a new bed and mattress

Here was their Queen bed at their 2 story home. The bedroom was slightly smaller. The bed was beautiful but a little small for the couple and their 2 dogs.

Here is the new mattress before the bed was delivered. These mattresses are on their own frame and do not need a bed frame.

Here is the new bed and they added some pictures above the bed to fill in the space.

True, it was an expensive purchase but they sleep better at night, have less aches in the morning and the room looks great. So if you are at retirement age, a new bed/matress might be the perfect purchase.

The husband is preparing for hip surgery soon and thinks this new bed will help with the recovery process and they realized that the mattress they had bought many years ago was not giving their backs the support necessary for good sleep. Don't wait if you have an old matress set.

Hi Irma,

Absolutely and I have not retired either. We all deserve a good night's sleep. The seller said the best feature was one could keep the bed flat and the other one could raise the head or feet just like a hospital bed. That has to be the best feature.

Hi Patty,

The seller said she kept saying "Oh our mattress was very expensive and we do not need a new one but then she realized it was 29 years old! I am going to go out on a limb and say they definitely got their money out of it so it was time. I do not recommend anyone keeping their mattress as long as these sellers did.

David,

You would love the new foam mattresses. We go to the furniture stores and lay on them and try them out...very comfy.

Three types of mattresses are popular on the market that are memory foam, spring/coil, and hybrid mattresses. The memory foam mattresses are highly comfortable, the spring or coil mattresses are firm, the hybrid mattresses are comfortably firm and supportive. For back pain patients, the hybrid mattresses are good. According to Mattress Insight, you have to choose a few essential mattress factors before buying a new mattress such as firmness, comfort, support, sinking, edge support, cover, layer, motion isolation, healthy, warranty, trial offer, etc.
