Just over four years ago, we added a photovoltaic system to our El Dorado Hills home to help with our huge PG&E power bills. It has saved us $500 per month if not more but solar power saves more than money. Here is a look at our monitoring system for the lifetime we have owned it. Keep it mind, here in the Sacramento Valley, we live in a climate with dry, hot summers so a large part of our usage is for air conditioning in the summer months. Our system size is 6.4kw.
