Hot Air Balloon Polo Festival at Gulfstream Polo in Wellington
Bring the entire family out from Friday April 18th through Sunday April 20th to enjoy a weekend of fun, polo, balloon rides, and more.
Each morning, the hot air balloons will take off from the polo field one after the other and that looks really amazing. Bring your cameras! You are allowed to walk around the six to seven story high balloons as the pilots are inflating them.
Don't miss out Saturday night as the balloons participate in a "balloon glow". The balloons will all be tethered together and they will all light their burners at the same time to create an wonderful light show.
Hot Air Balloon rides are available for $200 per person. Call 803-652-1181 to schedule your flight. Tether rides are being offered for $5 per ride. Friday April 18th- 6 of the balloons will do the tether rides right after the polo game. There are only 400 tether rides available. The tickets for the tether rides are going on sale at 5 p.m. on Friday. We suggest you get in line before 5 so you can get your tickets.
There is one balloon that is wheelchair accessible. There are only 3 balloons in this country that are wheel chair accessible. The pilot, Tom Warren is offering this balloon to fly injured Marines and soldiers.
For the kids, there is an aviation themed mini amusement park with a giant space ship slide, climbing walls, and a 200 foot long zip line. Those are just some of the fun things to do while you are at the festival.
Of course, there is the excitement of the polo matches that are going on during the festival. Make sure to catch a match. There will be a polo game each night.
"Build Ford Tough" Polo and Balloon Festival will also have vendors, music, food, and more.
Admission is a donation to the Injured Marine Semper Fi Fund.
