I decided to do a little research this morning by reviewing some of my most popular blog posts over the past seven years. It was a good way to determine what topics have a timeless appeal to readers.
Not surprisingly, an early post about a treasured local beach is still racking up the clicks and views. With another season of warm weather fast approaching, Rat Beach in Palos Verdes Estates will soon be the scene of surfing lessons, picnics, boggie boarding and beach umbrellas in the sand.
Here's a snippet from my 2008 post, and I've included a few photos from good times I've enjoyed at Rat Beach.
Located in lower Malaga Cove, and at the southern tip of Torrance Beach, RAT Beach is a favorite of young and old, and all the in-between beach-goers in Palos Verdes. The waves are gentle, the water is shallow, and the sand is ample. You'll see surfers of all abilities and lots of splashers. There are walkers and sandcastle builders. Picnickers and sun-worshipers dot the landscape.
It is off the beaten path and not visible from the street. The locals consider it one of many treasures on the Palos Verdes Peninsula still largely undiscovered by the the beach-going masses.
