GOT A PANTRY PROBLEM?
Stagers never have problems, we just have another opportunity to utilize our creative genius!
This is kind of a companion blog to the 'Closet Case' blog that I posted yesterday. This is a great trick for newbie stagers, because it creates a lot of impact without a tremendous amount of inventory. Staging a pantry is a trick that I utilize in a vacant home, but certainly, staging a lived in pantry is equally important.
A house that I recently owned was very nice, but the wow factor for every visitor was the pantry. Can't tell you how many friends took the house tour, and spent more time commenting on the walk-in pantry. Good storage space is a memorable feature in a home, so by staging the space, we help the buyers remember the house, and that house is most likely to end up in the final cut!!!
So one of the first things we want to do is get a good light fixture in there. We'd like to see either a halogen spotlight, or halogen track light to really add some zip. Secondly, (for a vacant) purchase some inexpensive charger plates, and plate stands. These add a lot of color and consume a lot of space. Another solution: IKEA has some great glass jars that come in all kinds of sizes. Just fill them with colored tissue, or some other inexpensive item (pasta)and this creates a great color story.
So here are a few of my pantry stagings.......
In the one on the left, I took out the blue pottery for the final staging. The one on the right illustrates a staging where I included a free coffee maker to the buyer of the home (courtesy of Houston Home Staging) The free coffee maker is a popular marketing gimmick. It makes the house memorable for the buyers, and it makes Houston Home Staging memorable to the Realtors!!!
Happy Staging y'all!
