This is a great example of what DIY knowledge can do for you when selling your home. I'm a big believer in painted cabinets and new hardware. It can turn a tired and dated kitchen into fresh and bright with just some primer and paint.
And if you really want to get adventurous, add some molding for visual interest.

I'm sure one day I'll be blogging that Oak is back but for now.... Oak is out, paint is in! Black, white, cream, beige..... Here are some before and after pictures of a listing I have in Cameron Park, CA. This kitchen was really dark so the seller opted for a lighter color. Keep in mind that the before picture was taken by my photographer, Trevor and the after was taken by yours truly. It'll give you an idea though of the difference it makes. Of course, the kitchen looks brighter but to me it also looks bigger.
Now the cabinets just need some cute knobs and pulls or maybe some glazing but we'll let the buyer's pick what they want!
