What is with the majority of agents and title companies that are working with banks on the REO side???? I know it just isn't me!!! These clowns sit around and throw the properties on the MLS and sit back. When you call, they don't answer and when you submit your Purchase Agreement along with others, they don't call back or give you an update. I can't wait for the REO's to dry up and watch you crappie flop all over the place when you actually have to work to get business. If you are too busy to respond to offers etc, you should have an assistant. and Heaven forbid you have to rush or give the bank a little poke to get them going. I promise you they won't fire you if you are doing a diligent job. These title companies that are working for the banks say they are offering a great deal to close with their company and after closing a few, my title company would have been cheaper every time. Don't fall into that trap!!!! These guys have no work ethic!!!! Anyone else feeling my pain???

Hi Jason,

I agree with you 100%. There is one particular agent in my area who pretty much only lists REO properties and he is and absolute bear to deal with. It took him 5 days to return my call with a request to get into the garage on the property. My buyers were ready to put in an offer as soon as they saw the inside of the structure. I see a lot of REO agents who are unprofessional and just don't give a crap and its very disheartening.

I hope these banks start getting a little more discriminating when hiring these agents.

Yes, I agree 100%.  It is more than frustrating.  I have lost more than one deal because I can't get the agent to even return my phone calls or respond to an offer.  My buyers lose heart and decide to go elsewhere.

Jason - I have had similar problems and so have other agents in my office. It is too bad the companies listing the REO properties aren't checking to see how well the listing agents aren't performing.

I mostly agree.  We have some here that have made a name for themselves among agents for being a PITA to deal with.

But I will say we have at least 2 that I think are great.  One is fellow AR member Melissa Schneiders.  She always follows-up, returns calls, puts lots of photos in mls, and more. I bought my own property thru an REO agent that was diligent as well.

Sheree-That is great!!! There is maybe 1 or 2 in my market also, but that is out of at least 200 agents that are listing REO's.

I can't believe how many of those agents won't answer the phone or respond. I just closed on one on Friday and NOT ONCE did I talk to the listing agent AND when I looked at the HUD, he made MORE than I did. I spoke to his assistant and the entire time. It was unbelievable.
