Our Lady Of the Lake Foundation is holding their 23rd annual gala and guess who is coming? Yes! It’s Michael Mcdonald! Who is Michael Mcdonald?  He is an American R&B soul singer and songwriter. Remember that awesome group the “Doobie Brothers”? Well, Michael was a part of that famous group. I absolutely love the Doobie Brothers. He has performed and recorded with Steely Dan. Michael has also had several hits as a solo artist.

But wait there’s more. As if Michael Mcdonald wasn’t enough to get you up and going to the gala, guess who else is coming? Chef John Folse & Company will be preparing some delicious food. Chef John Folse has had twenty-five years of culinary experience. Folse has received numerous national and international accolades. In November 1999, the Acadiana Chapter of the American Culinary Federation inducted Folse into the Louisiana Chef’s Hall of Fame for his lifetime contributions to the promotion of Louisiana cuisine. Additionally, Folse received the Antonin Careme Medal in November 2000. Folse is currently serving as president of RCA.

Are you ready to go to the gala? Our Lady of the Lake Foundation 23rd Annual Gala will be held on April 4, 2008 at in Downtown Baton Rouge at the  Baton Rouge River Center. Come join the fun at 6:30 for the social hour and get prepared to be served the greatest food by Chef John Folse at around 7:30. After filling up your tummy, Michael Mcdonald will come on around 8:30 pm and entertain you for the night. So, get up in your black tie attire and go have a wonderful time enjoying good food and good entertainment for a good cause. Get your tickets now!

So, you’re probably wondering what Our Lady of the Lake foundation is all about. This foundations has provided millions of dollars to the Medical Center which has allowed patients (who might not be able to pay) a premier healthcare experience. Take the Children’s Miracle Mansion, they are building a home that is worth at least $500,000. Tickets are $100 for the raffle. The proceeds will be used to purchase lifesaving pediatric equipment, expand resources and help local children receive care close to their homes and families. Did you know that over 60,000 children are treated at OLOL annually? Also, 10% of this raffle will go to the CRBA foundation to support their local charitable efforts.

Hi Lindsay,  Sounds like a great evening.  What does the Lady of the Lake Foundation support?  Is it a church?
