There is an art to being a great Realtor.  This art can be learned and some are born with the ability to be a GREAT Realtor.  On a larger scale, what we are talking about the the art of Management.  We have all worked for terrible managers, in from what ever industry you have come, and we have all worked for wonderful managers.

It is not a matter of this manager always giving us what we wanted, because chances are that that kind of manager did not have the company's best interest at heart and would not have lasted very long in their employ.  No, it's a matter of packaging things in a way as to get of the team to buy into it and support his or her decisions, efforts, projects and policies.  It's about being fair, and bing a Team Captain.

Being a Great Realtor is about representing the best interest of your clients, absolutely true.  But how in the world are you going to do that if in your past transactions you treated everyone involved like dirt, like an adversary, like you were better than all of them.  Are other professionals going to want to work with you?  Probably not.  This is now a liability for YOUR client because other Realtors know how you are and may not be as flexible with you in your time lines, asking for extensions or anything else that may come up.  YOUR client loses.

A great Realtor does an outstanding job at professionally representing his or her client, and is viewed as a Team Player by his or her other industry professionals.  It not about being soft, it's about having the reputation as a Great Person.

To your great success.

Cheers-

Mike
