WHAT DO YOU LOVE THE MOST ABOUT YOUR JOB AS A REALTOR?
WHAT IS THE WORST PART TO YOU ABOUT BEING A REALTOR?
I have often thought of people like the Ken you know he had one of the featured blogs yesterday titled. "I AM The Worst Realtor Ever"
I wonder after 2 1/2 years and only making 47,000 profit in 2 1/2 years what would keep him in the business? What are some of your reasons?????
I often dream about getting a "real" job with vacation, and benefits but then I think that I have been free for so long I don't know if I could survive if I had to be somewhere from 8 to 5 each day. Its the freedom that I love the most, that and having no boss.
The hate comes from mean and rude people, who think that I do not work for a living or don't want to pay me for my service. Other agents are sometimes worse than the clients.
If you use us for your book, do we get free copies or just royalties?
Dennis -I agree with you about rude people, I have to kill them with short doses of kindness.
Kim- I have a buyer's agent that does all that driving. We get the buyer approved up front and we make sure that we have pulled their credit and they have some "skin in the game". Then we get a signed BBA and then we give them the info on homes that meet their criteria they go look at the homes first to make sure that the yard is acceptable then we make appointments to show them. If they are not committed to buying a home in the next 30-45 days then I do not work with them.
People. More specifically, first time home buyers. They are the true joy in my work.
Hate? Nothing. I don't hate. I dislike the paperwork however :-)
I have to agree with Kris - The best part of this job is working with first time home buyers and seeing their faces when you turn over the keys to them.
Rude people have to be the worst part of this job. He I am wasting my time with them to help them out - and they are going to be rude. I don't think so.

After many years in the business, what I HATE is the lack of competence and professionalism displayed by many agents who are out there for a fast buck, and they make us look bad.

Hi Jennifer. Thanks for mentioning me in my posts. The thing I like the least would be the way some people treat us. I guess nobody likes pushy people, but I am certainly not. I am trying to help people achieve their goals. They seem to look at us with lots of skepticism. For the record, the post was "I am a Horrible Realtor".

The thing I like the best is that no two days are ever the same- In fact I love the fact that in a matter of minutes everything can change. Last week, I thought that it was going to be a quiet day of webinars, blogging, etc. Then I got a call with a purchase offer on one of my listings and a half hour later a call to come over to take a listing. So.....The adrenaline starts pumbing and it is a great day!
The thing that I like the least is working with agents that make me beg for lead, property and agency disclosures or feedback after they show one of my listings.

I love making my own hours, running my own business and helping people through one of the most stressful moments in their lives.
I hate clients that lie to me and are uncooperative. Those are the ones that don't get that I'm there to help them...and they usually end up fired.
