When expectations become unrealistic, it's time to EXIT stage right!

Some client-agent relationships are matched well and both parties are able to work together to accomplish the goals set forth.

Then there is the other side...

  • Playing the blame game when things go wrong 
  • Sales goals are not met in a timely manner
  • Lack of trust due to a breach in communication

By discussing every detail of a transaction with both sides agreeing on expectations, timelines and efforts may prevent problems further down the road. Agents love when everything comes together in order to move forward, realizing goals and closing a transaction for their clients.

Some things may get in the way, just be sure it isn't YOU!

When I read this post Wanda, it reminds me of;

  They didn't plan to fail,. they just failed to plan. 

As you point out Wanda, its nice when everything goes togeather  in the end, but when they don't , its tough on everyone, especially the person who has done all of the work, the Realtor in most case. 

You can never spend too much time on the details and the planning process, as the carpenters like to say, measure twice, cut once !!

Bryan, There is a large amount amount of work and effort that goes into the process of getting a home sold and I tend to make it look easy because I love what I do and have high expectations. Hopefully mine match the seller's and if not, then we move on.

Will, After all, we should have the same goals, to get a home sold at a good value, in the shortest amount of time so clients can move on. Some just do not work out and we need to push forward quickly, no time to stew!

Wanda,  Sometimes, the chemistry just isnt right between client and Realtor and nothing will go right.  Instead of forcing the issue, it is best to Exit Stage Right and move on.

Wanda we do tend to make it look easy, like you said, and it's not really all that easy at times to pull a million items together fast and keep all happy.As a team working together - and I mean the clients as part of the team - it tends to run smoothly. It doesn't make much sense to row upstream.  That's when it's time to let that boat go and catch another one.

Anna, I like to WIN and close them all, we all do. Sometimes saying Uncle earlier rather than later makes more sense!

It can become miserable for the agent and we sense the lack of trust. It either needs to close fast or we need to have an understanding.
