On January 14, 2007, I wrote this post that had a picture of me with my laptop at Peet's Coffee in San Ramon, California.

On the back of my computer, I had created this very visible branding image to draw attention to the fact that I am a real estate agent, I'm blogging and I want input from the general public.

I think the back of a laptop is some of the most underutilized branding space available. If you're like me, you're always out and about with that "billboard" up.

 Is it working for you?

I had the idea that it would be a great business to figure out a way to make this available to the masses and a couple of weeks ago I ran across SkinIt - a company that did just that.

On SkinIt's site, you can choose a template for your laptop or other device and create a customize skin like this one.

The skins easily peel off if you want to replace them. It's a great idea to brand yourself in all kinds of ways.

So, was this my idea first?
