Sometimes I think that Charlottesville is a big town and then I get a little perspective.

Take a look at this photo:

My World

Notice how night is shifting across the United States and the concentration of lights in the major cities.

Well, Charlottesville is just a little spec of light from this perspective. But when you visit our area you will see why we shine brightly!

Sometimes we just need to stop and takes things in Perspective.

I am looking forward to your visit!

Charles, When one looks at the big picture, it really shows how insignificant we really are.

Are you sure the lights are really out and you don't know it?  It does look quite interesting from that perspective.

Charles,

What a neat post! I look at it and think;"Wow, our light shows up in space."

On the one hand "Aren't we clever, and powerful?" On the other hand, "With us being so clever and powerful, Why are we waisting all that energy sending light out into space?" Very nice post.

Charles:  These pictures are absolutely amazing.  The one of the entire earth is beautiful, obviously, but the top picture showing the nightfall as it goes across the country is just breathtaking.  Thanks so much for sharing this.

The one thing I notice... that I never thought of before... is the slanted line of light on the west coast... showing that the sun... and hence, the sunlight... is coming from from the southern hemisphere... meaning it is winter up north, and summer below the equator.  This is just so cool.  Again... thanks for sharing.
