It's not uncommon for many of the Active Adult communities and RV resorts to have bookings years in advance. Winter rentals usually require a three to six month month minimum stay, but shorter terms are sometimes available. There are also lots of single family homes in all sizes available for the winter season. Many of these homes are in golf or waterfront communities. Lots of winter residents get a group together that will split up a six month lease into several smaller time periods. This is a great way to save money and still be able to spend a month or two in the warm Arizona winter. There are lots of options available, but the longer you wait to book for the following year, the greater the chance that you'll be on the outside looking in.
