Do you like Elvis Presley? Maybe you just like classic cars. Or maybe music and dancing are your passion. Maybe they all are a love of yours. Whatever the case may be, on July 19th, 2014 you can experience all of this in one location; Dancing in the Streets.
Dancing in the Streets
The citizens of The Greater Lafayette area are classic-car enthusiasts. At least, many of us are. Whether it's the Sonic Drive in on Creasy Lane, or downtown, you can often find a place hosting classic car exhibits. We go crazy over our classic cars.
Despite the numerous exhibits of classic cars around the Greater Lafayette area, you'll be hard pressed to find one larger or more fun than at Dancing in the Streets. But what is Dancing in the Streets? It's a classic car and music festival that allows numerous vehicles and musicians into downtown Lafayette and West Lafayette in a party-like atmosphere. This annual event that occurs on the 3rd Saturday in July is put on by the Lafayette Chamber of Commerce and goes from 4 PM to midnight.
This year, entertainment for the adults will include Twisted Gold, Kenny Presley Live, Corey Cox, Traveler's Dream, The Clutter, The Prezforeva, Tonya Lanece Redmon, Mikey Haze Hunnit, Dom D, and Living Proof Band. For the kids, Wendell Ferguson will be the Mobile Disc Jockey that offers Karaoke and games while DMG will be showing off their dance moves and gymnastics!
Additional entertainment will include Clarrisa Luse (14 year old Country Music Singer) and Joseph White (balloon twister). The stages are set in various areas so you have to visit the website here to find out where to go for your respective music artist. Also, the classic car and motorcycle cruise can be pre-registered for starting Monday June 23rd and will last until July 17th.
