A Golden Gift for Mom

My life changed dramatically three years ago, when I adopted or should I say two Golden Retrievers adopted me.

These two have taught me a lot in the short time they have been in my life. This winter they reminded me how much I loved snow as a kid.  Every day they remind me to slow down and enjoy life. I will forever be thankful to the Almost Heaven Golden Retriever Rescue and Sanctuary.

Without them pulling Rhett and Ruffie out of an abusive home, I would have never had the honor of having them in my life.  But saving these lives comes at a cost and many rescues around the nation need your help to feed and treat the dogs.

Mariel Connell with Golden Retreiver Rescue of Southern Maryland estimates the average cost to re-home a rescue is $600 and that’s if they are healthy. If the dogs are sick the cost skyrockets. Adoption fees of 100 to 300 don’t cover that cost. “We are trying to fill this gap in funds through donations and fundraisers.”
